Dear [MP’s Name],
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing with concern to the proposed reinstatement of NHS England under direct rule by the Department of Health and Social Care. I can understand that the reasoning is to take greater care for the patients (although loss of public sector jobs will impact lives) but I would be glad to see an explanation on how this will impact frontline health workers' funding.
In particular, I would like to know whether additional funds will go towards employing additional doctors, nurses, and other essential NHS staff—without recourse to privatisation. Would other forms of funding, such as wealth taxes on individuals who own assets valued at over £10 million, be investigated to finance this initiative in conjunction with reducing income taxes for ordinary workers to improve the level of living?
Since NHS workers are already operating at full capacity and demand for healthcare continues to increase, providing sufficient financial resources for such key positions is vital to enhance patient outcomes and decrease waiting times.
I would be very much interested in learning about the government's intentions in this matter and how they will have a direct impact on the NHS workforce.
Sincerely,
Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.
Best regards,
LJ
